Mister Moose:
I know its not your product, but can you tell me how to get more info on
the Amiga Diaquest board? Have y'all used one – what do you think?

Jonathan,
I do not have any information on the Diaquest product.

Jonathan,
I received info from Diaquest. It looks GREAT! The product is called the
DQ-TACO and it plugs into any PC compatible slot on the 2000 and 3000 Amiga
series. A Bridgeboard is NOT required. It is an "intelligent" controller
which auto-configures to serial videotape recorders.
What I really liked, is an option (for extra $$) called Action Animator.
This will frame accurately bring video clips INto the computer, frame by
frame. Which means you can image process each frame of videotape, add
graphics if you like and send it back to tape again.
You can contact them at 415-526-7167 Diaquest Inc 1440 San PAblo Ave
Berkeley, CA 94702
I was hoping to buy one this month but the funds are VERY low right now 🙁
Jonathan,
How does this thing compare to the Video Toaster, or does
it work with the Toaster itself ??

Paul,
The DQ Taco, works in conjuction with the toaster (and other programs).
Its main function is to allow you to RECORD 24bit animations TO video tape
frame by frame.
The optional function allows you to CAPTURE frames of video tape, frame by
frame. I THINK, this option uses the Toaster frame capture feature while
the DQ Taco automates the function of advancing the video tape frames. I
would call to verify.
Thanks Bill;
I will give them a call and get some information on this product.

The Diaquest board is simply a frame-by-frame controller. I'm not
totally sure of its capabilities, but it would be useful to record frames
from Lightwave, or perhaps, frames from Imagine using a Firecracker as the
video output source.
