To Yost Group: I'm unfamiliar with what the Yost Group does/sells. Could you provide some info? I have Animator Pro, AutoCad, some pro-video gear, am buying 3D-Studio in Feb or March, as well as video edit suite gear. Am an old hand at computers, and a 10 year? Compuserve'r. Thanks. Tom: FYI, the Yost Group, led by Gary (the magnificent) Yost wrote 3D Studio, Animator, and Animator Pro for Autodesk, in addition to a set of IPAS routines they sell themselves through Schreiber Instruments for 3D Studio. They frequent this board, answering tech support questions, accept wish list items, and just generally eat up a lot of CompuServe computer cycles and disk space! Greg Pyros

Thanks Greg Gotta get some of these IPAS routines for a fly-through an ion implanter for making flat-panel LCD displays project I'm working on. Thanks again!

I agree with almost everything that Greg said about me. <g> (almost) Once you get your copy of 3DSr2, there will be a little white response card in it that you can send back to me in order to get a brochure describing the add-on's to 3DS that we're offering. – G

Gary's just left town for awhile, Tom, I recommend that you email this message directly to our PPN so it's stored until his return. Thanks. – Jack

Tom, PMJI, if you're pretty sure you'll be buying 3D Studio in the next coupla months, you might want to consider Terry Coolick's offer of 3DS for $1,700 which is quite a savings off retail. Eli.

Eli, Thanks for the mention! Looking at the times of these messages, we're almost answering in real time. How ya been? Regards, Terry

Hey Terry: I'm doing pretty well, though I wish I had more time to learn 3DS! BTW, that image I did of the fractal planet reflected in water is being used by The Waite Group on the front cover of their new book "Fractals for Windows." And…they spelled my name right, too! So, are you replacing 3DS with something else? I've been looking into Playmation – I especially like the library of motions – walking, bending, etc. It let's you design a mesh [though I'm not sure they use the term mesh] and then animate it by applying one of the library motions. Kinda cool. I still intend to learn as much about 3DS as I can, though just when I think I'm making progress, one of the 3DS whizzes puts me in my place by revealing a really cool technique. Take care, E.

Eli! Thanks for message. How do I get ahold of this fellow? Is it the current release? Is he a dealer? or selling a his S/N# I'm in Monterey California. I have an AutoDesk multimedia (&ACAD) dealer buddy who'll sell it to me for a little over $2,000, knowing that it's my office that will providing more tech support than it gets- that's usually been the case. Best Regards!
