I just bought Animator Pro & have a couple of questions. 1. Is it possible to launch the program from an icon on the Windows 3.1 desktop. 2. Why can't I get a higher than MCGA resolution on a Diamond Speedstar SuperVGA card with one MB of VRAM?

Duke, 1) Animator Pro 1.3 will launch from Windows. 2) Install the VESA driver for the Speedstar (possibly by doing VMODE VESA or using a Tseng-based VESA driver (included w/AAPRO). Kevin (not Jeffrey) Krell – Computer Support Associates

Duke, I'm using the Diamond Speedstar SVGA (not the 24) with AniPro at up to VESA 1024*786. I had to use a generic VESA driver that (came with another board) to get it to work in VESA modes. Let me know if Kevin's non-Jeffery <g> suggestions don't work in your case. J(not Jeffrey)KJ

Animator Pro 1.3 _will_ launch from Windows. IMHO it's not at its best there, and the Postscript fonts are very slow to use. Oh, how to do it? Read the fine manual supplement, page 13. Oh, since I've got it out, I'll be nice. Two options – in a full screen DOS window, run AniPro at 320×200. Or, make a PIF with: Video Memory: High Graphics On, Memory required: 128KB, Desired: 640 KB, EMS and XMS options: all 0. And lastly the caveat: "Even with High Graphics on you might have problems with Alt+Tab in High Resolution. However, be sure to leave this option on even in low resolution. Any counter opinions? Am I missing an option (I mean other than a 66MHz 486 – I'm still with a 20 MHz 386, I know I'm due for a change). Chuck Jameson Silver Tongue Software
