A530 Turbo (GVP) Who's got an A530 they want to sell, since they have upgraded to an A1200 OR A4000, or something? I have an old, but very hacked and still trusty A1000 that I want to give wings to… and am looking for an A530 to hack around with. I don tneed the drive, case or power-supply, just the board and chips, with ram. Make me an offer, I am crazy, and needy, but not quite unlimited… :> Anyways, let me know. FS

Would you be interested in a LUCAS/FRANCES combo? They don't work with my Rejuvenator and I need the chip RAM more than I need the accelerator. Chris

I'm not familiar with the Frances board (?). I recall the LUCAS project from the early A1k days… let's see…Low priced, UltraCheap Accelerator System, right? What speed, what type chips, what cost? and most importantly (I remember the hassles folks went through) how stable is it? Do I need the special PALS or do they come included…as you can see, AM interested, but need some facts, first. And thanks for the quick reply!

The FRANCES board is a 32 bit 4mb memory board for the LUCAS. It can also remap the kickstart ram, which results in a tremendous boost in performance. My unit is a 20MHz 68020 w/881. It has been modified to hold a 68000 and can switch between the two (with a reboot, of course). In my machine, the combo has been very stable. The LUCAS alone was kind of flakey (I'm told the power runs are not very good), but the combination has no problems (I put the highest quality caps I could find on the FRANCES board. They seem to be enough to help out the LUCAS.) I don't know what the going price is. E-mail me and we can discuss it. Thanx – Chris
