#HyperChem under OS/2

There is no HyperChem for OS/2 at this time, mainly because we haven't seen
much demand. I think I saw that OS/2 will support Windows Enhanced Mode at
some time? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts, specifically on why
you chose OS/2. Was it for specific applications or more a desire to have a
more integrated operating system.

I don't think that that is going to be generically true, partly 'cause of
things that enhanced mode requires of the 386 chip that OS/2 can't deal
with because of its need to protect apps from each other.
However, *some* of the features of enhanced mode may become available under
Win-OS2, if they ever fix (oops, upgrade <g>) it. If that happens,
HyperChem may be able to run in a sort of "souped up standard mode" or
"crippled enhanced mode" Win-OS2. Depends on exactly what enhanced mode
features are required by HyperChem.

Rich, Yeah, well, I was delibrately trying not to be specific since I don't
have OS/2. I think I'll just wait for Win32 and NT.
