I have just bought a used Toaster with the 2.0 software. I have installed it in an Amiga 3000 by cutting the back of the case of the 3000 with tin snips to make room for the #1 input. I did not upgrade the power supply of the 3000 and I seem to be having problems with the computer now. Would it be possible for someone who has done this hack to leave me an E-mail message with your voice phone number so that I could BRIEFLY consult with you about my problems?

Erik Flom has had experience with a Toaster in an A3000. You could ask him. But I think you should get a stronger power supply, for one thing.

I've just installed a VT4000 into a desktop A3000, no modification to the card or chassis is required. Fits perfectly. Newtek has a bravket to fit the 3000/4000 or the 2000 that comes with the VT4000. For your info.

Steven, (Or anyone) Sorry for breaking in here but this thread fits my msg. 1) Can a toaster be used in a 3000T, with or without a cozzy? I was told that the 3000 shouldn't be used because of its power supply. 2) Does that mean I can put the vt4000 into a 3000 without voiding anything? It shows there is some misinformation floating around with the VT4000 because I was told that it could only work with the 4000? Thanks much, John

John, You can use the Toaster4000 in a 3000 or 3000T without any modifications. Some 3000's have weak power supplies when you have a toaster and other cards…but 3000T's are just fine. The Toaster4000 when used in a machine other than a 4000 will not have some AGA features such as realtime playback of full-screen 256,000 color images and some effects. Everything else will work however. JG

Thanks much. It sounds like a good bridge until I can afford a new 4000 on top of everything else. John
