Hello,
I am thinking of upgrading from an Amiga 2000 to an Amiga 4000. I
currently have and Amiga 2000 with a GVP 68030 Accelerator, California
Access external floppy, Commadore 8 meg expansion with 4 megs on it, and a
Commadore 1084s Monitor. I am wondering if any of these will be
compatible it I upgrade. Of prime importance is the SCSI controler and
memory expansion on the G-Force 68030 board.

I'd say your best bet is to sell the 2000 complete or keep it for a second
machine. While the monitor will work you won't be able to get the hi-res
flicker free modes with it. The external floppy should work but with a
4000 you may find yourself using disks formatted to 1.44mb rather than
880k. I doubt if the GVP card will go into the 4000's CPU slot so you'r
eout of luck using the onboard SCSI controller and the memory definatly
won't work. GVP has alway used their own simm design that's not compatable
with anyone elses. As for the 2058, it would probably work but would be
SLOW. The extra 4 megs might be nice but you're better off just getting
rid of the 2000 and buying more goodies that are designed for the 4000.
After all, you're getting a 4000 for more speed, right?
You are not right about GVP …
I got a GVP II in My A 4000 with 8 x 1 Mb SIMM and all work flawlessy. P.S. The
revision number MUST BE 4.15 .
