BB mouse3.drv
6 messages in this thread
Hello all, Does anyone know how to install the AMOUSE3.DRV driver supplied with
the 386-BB into Windows 3.1? I tried the setup program from both DOS and
Windows as the Windows manual suggests, but I keep getting an error claiming a
missing OEMINFO file (I think that was the name). I'd rather use one mouse for
double duty, if possible. Thanks in advance for any tips!
Yes,
Go into your windows setup and set your mouse to microsoft.
Then go delete the mouse.drv from your \windows dir.
Copy AMOUSE3.DRV to \windows, and rename it to mouse.drv.

Dave,
Actually all he needs to do is set the mouse driver path to whereever
it is as amouse3.drv. Don't even need to rename it.
Martin,
Use filemanager to edit system.ini. The first section is [boot] and about
2 lines down is the mouse driver path.
mouse.drv=c:\janus\amouse3.drv
This will enable a decent mouse action via the bboard.

Pete,
BUT will it make the Windows pointer work for mouse support in windowed
DOS sessions (eg. in EDIT)? (I suspect it won't.) I find I usually have to
put Microsoft's MOUSE.COM into the autoexec.bat to get proper results.

Can't really answer that but just say that it works fine with Norton for
dos.
