I've got my NEC 84 CD-ROM up and running! I'd like to connect the audio out in the back of the NEC 84 to the audio in on my Sound Blaster Pro. Does anyone know where I might get such a cable ready made? Or, if not, where I might buy the plugs I need to make one? I called Creative Labs and they sell a cable for $6.00. It has, however, 4 pin connectors on both ends. I need a 4 pin on the SBP end and a 3 pin on the NEC end. I've also got a call into NEC re: this issue but I haven't heard back yet. Thanks, Dennis Gallagher Snohomish, Washington, USA

You can use a 1/8" stero cable and run it from the headphone jack of the CD into to Audio in on the back of the sound card…4 bucks from Radio Shack… -Bill

Dennis, I have about the same setup as you, and ran into the same situation. I did get the SBPro adapter cable, but discovered through a number of phone calls, one to NEC, that no one makes the appropriate connector for NEC drives! So I ended up manually soldering some wires to the connector pins and plug these into the unattached end of the SBPro adapter cable. Works fine and avoids having to run a cable outside of the PC box.
