Greetings O SYSOP, I was told that the entire FRED FISH collection is available
on CIS. Is it? I can't locate it. If it is where can I find it and is there
a comprehensive list available of all the disks? TANX.

Take a look in the AmigaArts Forum library. All the Fred Fish files are
over there.

I guess I haven't gotten used to having FISH over in TECH. It just doesn't
seem to jive with my impressions of Amiga Tech. Sort of like ordering red
wine with a fish dinner.

Look at the contents of most of the Fish disks. Most of it is pretty
technical.

I suppose the contents of the Fish disks are pretty technical stuff. I
just presumed that there was more room available in the Tech Libraries,
that's all.

I'm fine, thanks. Sorry I haven't been real vocal around here the past 6
months or so, but my real life has been a bit hectic and I've had to
resort to living in normal daylight bankers type hours. <g>
I'm online everday, though, checking forum business & messages, etc.
Yeah, AmigaTech doesn't appear to be the most logical place for the FISH
disks, but because it is the least busy Amiga Forum, it has the room to
hold the very large files… so, it makes sense from a practical point of
view.

You'll find the Fred Fish disks in library # 16 of the AmigaTech Forum.
Type GO AMIGATECH, then from the forum prompt (!) type LIB, enter 16 when
asked for a library… from there you can use the CIS library commands to
search for a FF disk by #, or keyword, etc.

Slap your knuckles with the ruler again… Fish Disks are in Library 16 of
AmigaTech, not library 12. Geez, when it rains, it pours, eh? <g>
We try to keep the latest twenty Fred Fish disks online. CIS would never
be able to provide us the disk space for the entire collection! That is,
considering how few downloads most of the disks would get. The disks that
we do have are in Library 16 of AmigaTech Forum. This should be disks
861-880 at the moment. We do keep the contents files for more of the
disks.

Would it be possible (and permissible) to have files on the latest fish
disks available individually? From my experience, few people want
everything on a particular fish disk and would therefore not bother to
download a whole disk just for one or two items.

Many of the files from the Fish Disks are available individually in the
appropriate Amiga Forum library. If you can't find something you are
looking for using the keyword search, let us know and we will do our best
to make it available.

We do upload the files individually. The Fish Disks themselves are
deleted and replaced when newer ones become available, but the files from
the disks are in the various libraries where they belong. They are
usually broken up and uploaded to the various libraries within a week of
their appearance here as Fish Disks.

I have a subscription to the disks, and each time I get a new set, I
delete the oldest ten and then upload the new ones. We delete the older
disks, but do not delete the contents files. The disks arrive at
approximately three-week intervals.

Hmm, Some of the disks I've been looking into are a bit before that, in the 500
range even. Any idea where I might find the whole, (or at least a good
portion) of the library? Another board or system perhaps?
Keith, the best source of the entire library – if you have a CDROM drive –
would be Hypermedia. They will sell you a CDROM containing almost all of
the disks – from the first one up to their current cut-off point – for
under $100.
I don't know of any one except some ftp sites that have the entire series
online. My club has the entire set in its library, and you might find a
user group or an Amiga dealer in your area that also keeps it all.
