Help!
Someone please give me some assistance with the following situation:
I am using CrossDOS under AmigaDOS 3.0, and have the PC0: device up and running
just fine. What I would like to know, is can I create a mountlist entry for a
PC2: device (on DF2:) to access MS-DOS 5.25" floppies via an A1020 5.25"
external floppy drive? If so, what device should I use? trackdisk.device or
mfm.device? What are the remaining mountlist entries? that DOSTYPE should I
use?
Anyone successfully accessing MS-DOS 5.25s via an A1020, please reply!

Eric,
You could try one of these two mountlist entries.
MS0:
Device = mfm.device
Unit = 2
Flags = 1 /* Allow 5 1/4" drives */
Surfaces = 2
BlocksPerTrack = 9
Reserved = 1
Interleave = 0
/* SecOrg = 1 */
LowCyl = 0; HighCyl = 79 /* 80 track drive */
FileSystem = L:MSDOSFileSystem
Buffers = 5
BufMemType = 0
Stacksize = 4000
Priority = 5
GlobVec = -1
DosType = 0x4D534400
Mount = 0;
#
MS360:
Device = mfm.device
Unit = 2
Flags = 1 /* Allow 5 1/4" drives */
Surfaces = 2
BlocksPerTrack = 9
Reserved = 1
Interleave = 0
/* SecOrg = 1 */
LowCyl = 0; HighCyl = 39 /* 40 track drive */
FileSystem = L:MSDOSFileSystem
Buffers = 5
BufMemType = 0
Stacksize = 4000
Priority = 5
GlobVec = -1
DosType = 0x4D534400
Mount = 0;
#
/*Change the unit=n to number of drive your using. */

Eric –
I'm using a 1020 with a 2000 daily. It is unit 3, since it is daisy chained
to an external 3.5" drive (1010). With CrossDOS Plus Version 5.06 3-Jun-1993
under Amiga DOS 2.1, the contents of sys:devs/DOSDrivers/PC3 follows:
Device = mfm.device
Unit = 3
Flags = 1
Surfaces = 2
BlocksPerTrack = 9
LowCyl = 0
HighCyl = 39
FileSystem = L:CrossDOSFileSystem
Stacksize = 2000
Priority = 5
GlobVec = -1
DosType = 0x4D534400
Buffers = 5
BufMemType = 0
Activate = 1
And PC3.info has the following tooltypes:
ACTIVATE=0
UNIT=3
Of course, I have to remember to format the disks as low density (360K) on the
PeeCee 🙂
