I recently got a Chinon CDS-431 CD-ROM Drive. This is an SCSI Drive,
but uses only 40 pins. As I alreday use an SCSI Host Adapter, I would like to
connect this CD-ROM Drive to my Future Domain SCSI Interface with 50 pins. Is
this possible? And how can I manage to connect a 40 to a 50 pin cable? Has
anyone an idea?
Klaus
If you contact Chinon, they have a 40 to 50 pin converter. Then you will need
to see if FD has a driver that will work with that drive. If so, you are all
set. If not, you will need to get the FD PowerSCSI drivers from their BBS and
use an ASPI-compatible CD-ROM driver (like the Trantor SCSIworks! package or
the Corel SCSI package) to work with the drive and that card.
