#SIGGRAPH 3D Studio party

Are we supposed to bring along demo tapes of our own works to the
SIGGRAPH 3D Studio "party" that'll be held on the Tuesday night at the
Disneyland hotel?

3d Studio Party? How do you get invited? Which tuesday might that be?
Adesk is sponsoring a 3DS party/get-together Tuesday night, August 3rd. This is
registered user invitation only, I hear, and if you are one, you'll be gettin'
one in the mail this month. It will be held at the Disneyland Hotel, very close
to the Anaheim convention center where Siggraph is being held. I think it
starts around 7PM.
Sounds like a blast to me!

I better get it soon. I hop in the car to head south on friday the 30th, rain
or shine (but then again, this is Oregon, so it will be rain), so it better get
here before then. Any schedule of festivities, or is it mostly an informal sort
of thing? Assuming of course that you know this…
Hmmm.. having never been to an Adesk 3DS party before, I don't know *exactly*
what to expect. I think Gary mentioned something about it being a fairly large
to-do, but I guess we're just gonna have to show up and find out!

PS If you don't have your invite, maybe they'ed let you in if you showed your

Turns out my invitation has been sitting in the department box in the other
office for two days (!) and nobody gave it to me. I thought I had registered
with my home address (it is a personal copy, having nothing to do with my job,
alas) and was waiting for it there. do you know what we are supposed to do with
this stub on the end? Hand it in at the door, or send it in somewhere. I assume
we hand it in at the door, but my assumptions have been known to be drastically
wrong before…
Low and behold, I get home this evening, and I find another invitation waiting
for me in the mail. Must be fate telling me to be at this thing, and who am I
to tempt fate?
Yost, inc: want to divulge some details on this thing? the invite is pretty
non-specific and I've already used up my allotment of patience waiting for
3DSr3.

Well, I haven't gotten mine yet, so I'm in the dark about any stub stuff. Maybe
an Adesk person here on the forum can let you know. If it doesn't *say* send it
somewhere, then I would imagine that you don't have to…

how I can get an invitation ???

Well, Ingo, since you *are* a registered user it would certainly make sense for
you to be able to get in…I'm sure many of us "stateside" would like very much
to meet you! I would. Give Gary (Yost Group) a holler and see if there are any
invites going out to Europe. If not, maybe he (or some other Adesk person like
Laura Kawazoe) could get you a special one. Give it a try!

versuchs erst einmal bei Adesk in Germany. Der 3DS Produkt Manager dort kann
vieleicht fuer alle deutschen 3DSUser was unternehmen.

My German being somewhere between non-existant and worse, I still gathered
that you will be in the Disneyland Hotel from Saturday on for Siggraph.
Keep Sunday night open for the ASOFT party!
