PMJI – I may be confused but I HAVE an ATI Ultra Pro AND 20 M of ram. In the setup routine for the card it lets you locate the memory aperture by 'megabyte number' rather than address. I set mine to start the aperture at 21 Mb. It goes MUCH higher. It seems to work – is there something I don't know ?

Yep. You must have either a local bus or an EISA machine. The regular ISA bus can't address more than 16M. That's what they were talking about.

Brian, There was an earlier thread that mentioned that you could relocate the area of the "memory aperture" if you had the EISA or VLB version of the ATI Ultra. With the ISA version (from what I heard about the early ones) the memory aperture was non-relocatetable, and it sat squarely at the 16 Mb boundary, effectively cutting off whatever RAM you had above 16 Megs….
