OK folks, could anyone tell me how to configure 3DS to run under OS/2 2.1? We just put it on a couple of PCs at my office and I have to get them up very soon. Be gentle, I'm not the animator, only a video editor/technician. Michael Graves

To be as gentle as possible, Michael, 3DS's PharLap DOS extender is VCPI, not DPMI compliant, so unfortunately running under OS/2 is typically not an option. I have heard told, however, of some brave souls who have messed with the executable and, I believe, updated it to a newer, DPMI compliant version of PharLap with supposed decent results running under Windows and OS/2. PLEASE NOTE that I have not personally seen this work and as far as I know this procedure is NOT reccomended!! I HAVE heard of serious data-structure problems on machines whose 3DS.EXE has been altered for one reason or another and heartily advise against it. Most likely a better choice would be to partition out a few DOS sections of the HD and stick with that area for 3DS work. Good luck, -Alan Iglesias

Such a shame it won't run under OS/2. Is there any word about when R3 will hit the streets?
