I've just added a new feature, the beginnings of a database of how to contact major manufacturers and dealers in CDROM hardware and software, to file Laser3.txt in Lib #4. Since the question "How do I contact ___" often arises here in various messages, I thought I'd see if there was some interest in having a central reference available. At the moment it's kinda skeletal; but, thought hard work and ruthless copying, I've got at least a basic point of contact for most major mfgrs of drives. Your thoughts and comments on format and content would be much appreciated, especially if you can supply missing or updated addresses phone numbers, etc. When supplying phone numbers, etc., please include the non-800 numbers too, if you have them, for our overseas friends who can't use 800 service. Any asistance or comments you could provide will be much appreciated! TIA!!

Is this going to be a US based list or International?? Paul

US/Canada for now, I'd thought, but there's no reason not to list international stuff. I'd already asked folks to give me real phone numbers in addition to 800 numbers that aren't available to international and even some local callers. What's your vote?

For Hitachi 800-HITACHI or 310-537-8383. The first is a referal service number that will give the NJ or CA numbers.
