Is there a way to look up a zip code with Street Atlas? I can figure out how to find a place by zip code, but not how to find a place's code. Nill

Nill, I don't think you can look up a zip code from a placename using street atlas. On the other hand, I think you'll find this info here on compuserve somewhere. If not, I've got it on another CDROM and would be happy to send it to you. Try going into the IBM file Finder (go ibmff) and search for "zip code" Dave

Thanks, Dave, I will try that. Seems like an obvious enough function for Street Atlas, though. Seems like if it can search in one direction it should be able to do the other. Nill

Street Atlas goes to a specific location when a ZIP code is entered. It does not know the boundaries of a ZIP code, so it can not tell you the ZIP code for a specific map location. I have found DDA's Phone Disk Reverse product to be a good source of ZIP code information.

Do you know if the Street Atlas USA sold at the Price Club is the latest version? The CDRom is marked ED 1.0 with XMap, I heard they came out with a version that did not work very well and needed to be modified to work properly. Thanks

Don't know about the Price Club version of Street Atlas USA, but ED 1.0 appears just ahead of my serial number, and it says "with XMAP System Software" under the title. Cliff Cullum [75136,2414]

The version of Street Atlas that required a floppy disk patch should be sold out by now. The problem was when a lot of fonts were installed. The Price Club should have the current version. I prefer Map Expert, but it is a lot more money. I was told to expect a new version of both products this summer with updated data. I don't know if this is still a real date. Much of the data on Street Atlas (Map Expert has identical data) dates back to 1980 and even some of that is in error. I stil get a lot of use out of Map Expert, but need to keep in mind that I can't trust the data for accuracy.

Thanks, I'll call DeLorme Monday and see if or when they will be coming out with a newer version. I don't really need it, just thought it would be fun to have one. Thanks again, Bob..
