I'm with a Gateway 66E and the Sony CD.
Tried everything from the Read.me file, your experience taking out everything
except what the READ.ME files says … but no luck.
I'm also with IRQ 5 and 340 base.
Did you take the line with IMAGEPATH ? Did you create a new branch in the tree
level fo PARAMETERS and there you put the DriverParameter stuff?

I also had a similar problem which said "conflict with serial port". I changed
my drive to all possible address, no luck.
Wire me back if somebody had a working SONY-CDU31A NT Driver taken from this
bulletin.

I have the 486-66 with the VESA bus, and you apparently have the EISA bus. I
don't know whether my pathto getting the CDU31A running under NT is going to
work for you.
