thomas, I can't remember the solution to this one. I do recall that only certain combinations of DMA/IRQ work. Give Groliers a call, they have a tech support number 1-800-356-5590. Glen Chapman

Glen, I talked to Groliers tech support, and they recommended changing irq on mvsound.sys line to Q:5. That totally locked my system, and, apparently did something bizarre, perhaps damaging other hardware, as my primary (esdi) harddrive cannot be seen when boot from floppy. Still no sound through the PAS from Groliers for DOS. Spent 4 hours mucking around with hardware and on long distance to ultrastor tech support – still don't understand, though was able to kludge by juggling esdi and scsi board addresses – see my note on ibmhw: #: 345894 S1/Disk/Disk Utils [H] 09-Jul-93 22:29:29 Sb: Ultrastor 12C/14F Wierd? Fm: ed jackson 70605,523 To: C Straghalis UltraStor 71005,1655 Which details the whole mess. Can you post a working system set-up for Groliers and PAS-16? (Maybe run a dx utility like checkit or sysinfo and post results?). Thanks in advance –ed

my brother has the NGME working with sound and vidoe now. the DMA changing didn't help. he went with IRQ 10 for mvsound and miracles upon miracle it now works. i think he has IRQ 3 for the sndbk. anyway, IRQ are the answer for this one. IRQ 5 is for LPT1 and apparently is "shared" by your SCSI hard drive.
