When I attempt to load a CD-ROM cache (CDSpeedway) using that programs
configuration manager, Windows reports "MSCDEX not loaded". When I check the
loaded drivers from the DOS prompt within Windows, it shows CDSpeedway loaded
high. The MSCDEX is in the autoexec.bat PATH statement. Any ideas? I am using
486/33DX w/ DOS6 & Windows 3.1/Enhanced.
I can only guess. You didn't say that you saw the 'MSCDEX' in memory.
The DOS 6.0 loadhigh command is strange. On my system, what it does is
undefined if the program won't fit into high memory. Sometimes it loads the
program low, and sometimes not at all. Try removing the loadhigh on MSCDEX, or
putting the speedcache in the autoexec after the MSCDEX line and rerunning
MEMMAKER.
Good luck.
