Help! I just installed my new Mitsumi internal CD-ROM, and I am completely new to this. I am succesfully able to run regular cd-rom software with no problems. However, I cannot get audio cd's to play where I can hear them. Using playcd.exe that came with the cd player, I can get the CD moving etc, I just cannot hear anything. But, I can hear if I am playing regulard cd software. I am using the drivers that came with. They are MTMCDE 2.10 and MSCDEX. VER. 2.21. Any suggestions or answers would be most appreciated. -Steven

Steven I have a Mitsumi internal CD ROM drive and am able to play and hear audio CDs using playcd.exe. I would check out the most obvious first. 1) Volume control not set to minimum. 2) Headphone to headphone jack connection OK. If you are still unable to hear your audio CDs if you provide more information on your system setup I'll try to help. regards Hugh

Steven I would make sure that your audio cable from the drive to the controller is pluged in. Even if you don't use the audio out on the back the headphone plug will not work with out it. The cable is a very small cable with four wires. It may also be plugged in wrong or loose. Good Luck

Are you trying to obtain audio through a sound card or from the line out/headphone socket? If you are trying via the sound card have you linked the output from the CD drive to the audio input socket on the sound card? Paul
