#OS/2 2.1 Install CD-ROM

I ran into the same or a similar problem. I also have the Texel 3024/Trantor
T130B. While trying to load OS/2 2.1 from CD, I got the same message. To make
a long story short, I was able to load all of the software onto my harddrive
with from the CD, but on rebooting to configure it would go to a white screen
and freeze. For a long time, I thought it was a video problem. I tried 3
different VGA cards (my original is supported under OS/2). I then started
eliminating hardware a piece at a time until I got down to the Trantor, F/HD
controller and video card. The problem persisted. After making a set of disks
from the image files on the CD, I removed the Trantor and sucessfully installed
OS/2.
Now the question is, can I make the Trantor/Texel combination work under OS/2?
The Texel 3024 is a selection on the CD ROM pick list, but the Trantor SCSI
adaptor is not. Any suggestions out there?

I have posted a message to Jack re: our common problem, at Trantor on this
forum. Please feel free to jump on the thread if Jack responds.
Not only is it convenient to be able to load large programs using a CD but I
have several apps (Corel, AutCad) that utilize CD techniques and I don't want
to give them up just to use OS/2.

In order to install the Trantor SCSI card with OS/2 2.1, you need to follow the
instructions on the OS/2 Installation guide, page XVIII.
Copy the .ADD to Disk1 and edit the CONFIG.SYS there to include that .ADD
driver in it. OS/2 should install without a problem.
In several of the OS/2 betas, the Installer doesn't copy the .ADD to the hard
disk, so you need to do that manually. I've also seen the Installer use a
DEVICE= statement instead of a BASEDEV= statement on the OS2CDROM.DMD file.
You may want to check that out, too.
