#3DS under Netware
8 messages in this thread
Hello 🙂
Please, help me!
How can I access to the F: drive with 3DS 2.01 under Novell Netware
3.11
Thanks.
Santiago Revellado.
Hmmmm…Although I'm not a network expert, I can tell you from my experience
that, if your network is running properly (ie: remapping drives, which I assume
your F: drive is, or a server drive), the drive will just show up as a drive
option in any load/save operation.

Try logging onto the the drive before you go into 3DS. Do a Directory, then
bail-out and go back to where you were. Then startup 3DS. I have the same
problem with my CD-ROM. So I put the routine in my Autoexec.bat so I won't
have to fool w/ it. 🙂 Alan – Hords of Fun!
Ummm, I think you are writing this message to someone else, Alan. I had
originally replied to someone with a network-related question some days ago.
Can't remember who it was, though.

Santiago,
Hmmm.. SHould be no problem at all. If you can go to your F: drive while in DOS
the drive will show up in 3DS. Did you possibly forget to load your network
drivers before starting 3DS?

Santiago,
I would suspect that you have lost your mapping for Netware. At the dos
prompt type in map . What is shown there? If your drive(s) aren't
showing up, then you need to remap them. You may need to see your network
administrator if you don't know their precise location. Otherwise it is
Map x:=fs1\sys:3ds2\meshes
where x is the drive you want mapped, fs1 is the file server name and sys is
the volume name, and 3ds2\meshes is whatever directory you are looking for.
Joseph,
Think you left this message to the wrong person. Good reply though.

Oopps. I guess switching to the windows version of CIM was more confusing than
I thought. Thanks.
