I've been outa touch for a while. Has a release data and a price been set for
3DS V3.0, and what will the upgrade do beyond V2.0?
PS Soem of us hate using BBS systems (Compuserve included), which relates to
the questions of tech support. I sure woudl like direct phone support.

But Rich — with phone only support, what are the odds you could ask the head
of the company a casual question like this, and expect (during NORMAL
non-pre-release times) an answer the same day?
I've gotten 30-minute turn-around on questions to Gary before, and he's not
just some Q&A tech — but someone who knows the program intimately! I WOULDN'T
do without my ASOFT forum!

That information is going to be announced at Siggraph on August 3rd. I'm sure
it'll find its way into the forum that week.

If you pick if Compuserve Information Manager or the Windows version (or
Tapcis, or Ozcis) you will find navigating compuserve a breeze. I used to hate
compuserve till I got the DOS CIM. Made my life a lot easier (and my phone
bills larger). Phone support would be nice, but I have yet to run across a
problem that I couldn't solve by posting a message here. Besides, How often do
you get personal help from the people who actually created and wrote the
software?
Oh, yea, and according to the Yost Group, the official announcement for R3 will
be on August 2nd, at SIGGRAPH.
I couldn't figure out CIS until I got DOS CIM either. My bill shot WAY up, as
high as $160/month until I found TAPCIS…I STRONGLY recommend this program.
My bill is now down to $20-40 per month. Brent
