#CDROM Connected to LAN
8 messages in this thread
How can I connect a CDROM to the LAN so that it is usable from any workstation,
will it be connected to the Fileserver or a workstation.
Mark,
Clients of mine are using the CD-NET s/w and NetStore CD-ROM cabinets from
Meridian Data. You can check with Meridan in the CD-ROM vendors forum. Corel
and others also have NLMs to share CD-ROMs. In our configuration, the CD-ROMs
have a dedicated SCSI adapter in the FileServer.

What LAN software are you using? If NetWare 3.x+ we provide hardware and
software which allow you to use SCSI CD-ROM drives to access CDs as NetWare
volumes. If you're interested email me your address and I'll have some
literature sent to you, or if you prefer you can call us at 407-677-8333 and
ask to talk to a salesperson (please don't ask for me, I'm in engineering and
couldn't give you information on pricing, availability etc.)
