I'm not up on CD-COM drives and related stuff, but I was advised that to
benefit from a double-speed CD-ROM drive like the NEC Multispin 84 internal
that I would have to match the appropriate adaptor. In quoting a mail-order PC
from ZEOS, they only mention a SCSI adaptor chip rather than any specific
adaptor. What should I be concerned about looking for to get the best
performance from a NEC84i in a ZEOS 4DX2-66 VESA local bus system? BRET
There is no special adapter needed for the double speed drives. I think ANY
SCSI bus-based adapter is MUCH faster than the double speed drives, so you
don't need to worry.
