#Pasadena Sep 10-12

We noticed in the most recent Amiga World that there will be a 3 day
conference/expo in Pasadena on September 10-12. A couple of us may be
traveling to Southern California that weekend and may be interested in
attending some or all of this.
A few questions:
1. Has anyone out there been to one of these? If so, what are they like?
The announcement in Amiga World talked about seminars – are these worth
attending? Do they offer different ones each day or do they repeat?
We are trying to figure out how much time we should devote to the
conference – 1 day, 2 days, or 3 days.
2. Any estimate as to the number of people who attend these conferences?
3. Do the vendors who attend offer any special deals or incentives on their
products, or are most sales at retail price?
4. Any other things that we should know with regard to planning our
attendance?
Appreciate any feedback that anyone might have on this.

1. Yes, I was at the WOC in Pasadena last year. They're pretty much like any
Amiga show – fun! Commodore usually has a large booth, and there's 30-50 other
booths, I'd guess including 3rd party vendors, user groups, and magazines. The
seminars are put on by 3rd party vendors and Commodore, and are usually quite
informative, and are different every day.
2. 10,000-20,000 people attend, I vaguely recall.
3. There's usually lots of special offers at the show.
4. If you're an Amiga enthusiast, I recommend it. I am with GVP, so I guess
I'm biased, but I find the show fun, also.

any word on location? Will it be at the DisneyLand what-ever-it-is, or
elsewhere?

Congratulations. I'm delighted for you, and also for AmigaWorld. How
nice to have such a knowledgeable Amiga person in that position.

Good to hear from you, too! All too often I d/load these messages and never get
around to reading them, much less responding to them. Debbie and I have
committed ourselves to addressing these concerns on a regular basis. Like the
proverbial one-armed paper hanger, I'm a tad busy these days, but still easy to
contact.

thanks! Now I just have to get a map and figure out a way to get
there. At least we now have commuter rail out here.

Disneyland is Anaheim, not Pasadena. Last year it was at the Pasadena
convention center. A fairly nice facility, although I wasn't impressed with
Pasadena itself.

thanks. Way out here in Riverside, we get a trifle confuse over LA
geography <grin>.

Robles. Is this a shorter walk than the Hilton?
