Steve, your best bet is to contact a multimedia dealer and ask for a demo. You
can get the number of a dealer nearest you by calling 800/879-4233.

I have some chapters on 3D Studio in three of my books; two of those books are
already out in bookstores.
"Multimedia Madness" includes an overview of 3D Studio, and shows it can be
used to create 3D objects, scenes, and animations.
"PC Video Madness" shows how to use 3D Studio to create great digital effects
with video files.
"Virtual Reality Madness" shows how to do somewhat more complex things with 3D
Studio. This is the only book not out right now; it will be out later this
summer.
All of the books also cover many other products, and are good introductions.
