Notice to all!
The development of the "Spectral Sensation's" JPEG CD-ROM for the Amiga,
IBM, Mac, and Atari platforms is going as planned. We have several
artist's who have made contributions so far and more are coming in every
day. And to those people, a special thanks for making the CD possible.
You still have plenty of time to contribute for the CD as the deadline
is the end of August. Remember, if enough of your artwork or photography
is used, a special directory will be created under your name (personal or
business), and you may place any text or image advertisement you wish in
that directory. You will also receive a free CD as thanks when it is
completed. What better way to advertise than to let people sample your
creations?
The "Spectral Sensation's" CDROM will be a showcase for computer
graphics, photography, and animation. Along with the high quality 24-bit
JPEG pictures, most of them will be rendered for quick viewing on the
Amiga, Atari, and IBM. And there will be plenty of Image Processing
utility's, viewers, and other useful programs for all platforms.
So if you have some 24-bit JPEG, IFF, Targa, or other format
pictures, rendered or original photography, please let me know via Email
here on this system, or via one of the other networks I frequent. You can
also get in touch with me by calling one of the numbers listed below.

of August, I'll wait another few weeks before I send them to you.
BTW, what's the percentage of contributor's by platform?

That's great Erik, whenever you get ready to send the JPEG's will be fine.
As far as a breakdown of contributions by platform, well right now the
vast majority are Amiga contributor's. About 75% Amiga, 15% Mac, and about
10% IBM. I'm trying to bring up the other 2 platform's, but it seems like
most Mac and IBM user's are stingier with their images. And of course, I'm
more well know in the Amiga circle's than the others also. But it also
show's that there are a lot of Amiga users doing a LOT of rendering 8^)

My guess is that there isn't much that Mac and IBMer's have to show. I am
surprised you didn't get some contributions from the POV people here.

Well I haven't given up on them yet. Maybe I should post a slightly
controversial message like "The Amiga's 3D rendering software is light
years ahead anything POV can produce. If you want to prove me wrong, then
send me some images." Suppose that might get some reaction out of them?

Ooh, Ooh, Ooh (sorta sad Three Stooges imitation)… if you throw that in the
POV hopper, you should get a response. Try that in one of these Mac forums if
you want some real sizzle.
No, the Amiga isn't that far ahead. In fact, DTVW's Digital Gallery gets more
MAc and PC files then AMiga – but not as much more as one would expect from the
relative market shares each platform represents…
Looks to me like most of the rendering so far published in DTVW mag from
mac or pc's have mostly been done by the s/w vendors, not end-users.
Keep up the Great work on the magazine. Always one of my favorite reads.

I have wanted to send some stuff but not knowing anything about printing
has kept me from it.
What is the best resolution for printing? Somehow I think the answer is,
`it depends' so I will ask another question. Is there a formula to find
out the right resolution and aspect ratio?

Standard video resolutions is fine (752 x 480), as well as VGA resolution (640
x 480). Higher res is great. Color should be 24 bit. Lou
