David, re: "Do you want to move to email and talk about the things you've done to date with Serius?" No need… as I just got Serius, and I haven't even finished the tutorial yet. I sent in the registration card, and am awaiting the DB objects. I'd really like to get the comm objects (or XCMD objects), as I'd like to do some simple serial port I/O in an application that I'd like to do… but the additional libraries aren't cheap… Cheers, Al

Al, I have Serius Developer Pro… it came with the Comms objects. If you know anything about the Macintosh Communications Toolbox, you'll basically know how to use the Serius Comms objects. Quite unsophisticated… I think you'd do better using the freedom of C or Pascal if mucking about with Mac communications. David.

David, Thanks for your reply! I had THINK C and THINK Pascal, but they were too much for me, so I sold them. On my old Apple //e (many many years ago) I was quite the hack, but the Mac is a different story. So I purchased Serius, hoping that I'd be able to whip out some quick apps, but I come to find that the optional objects aren't cheap, and the kind of serial I/O that I initially want to do is so simple… send a small data stream out a port, and see if/when it appears back into that same port. Any chance you'd sell your comm objects? Cheers, Al
