I'm trying to create an application icon using ResEdit 2.1 (and sys.7). I followed the steps that are outlined in _Mac. Pascal Programming Primer_ by Mark and Reed, but I still get the usual application icon instead of my customized icon. The application was created in THINK Pascal 4.0. I also rebuilt the desktop. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. ==> Greg

Greg, You need an icon, and an FREF, and a BNDL resource, and you need to set the bundle bit. The easiest way to do this is to copy the icon, FREF, and BNDL out of an existing application into your application, then edit the icon and rebuild the desktop.

Dave, Thanks for the info. Won't ResEdit automatically take care of these steps if I get into the BNDL resource and change the icon? ==> Greg

Greg, No, ResEdit won't automatically update the desktop file info for you (if that's what you were asking).
