I've used Photomorph a lot, and like the implementation. It is a 2D morph
package that runs under Windows. I've got a chapter describing it in my
forthcoming (August) book, "Virtual Reality Madness."

Ron – I've caught little blrubs about you books, and am intrested to know more
about them. Have you used WinImages Morph? Its pretty good and they're
continually revising it. Blackbelt has had quite a few years experience with
Morphing on the Amiga and like alot of software companies these days has ported
theirs to the windows environment. -JE
I received an evaulation copy of WinImage for my book on Virtual Reality, along
with a demo program. However, the demo program kept running into GPFs, and,
with the deadline approaching, I never had a chance to look into the reasons.
It could, of course, have been problems with my video driver andhave nothing to
do with Black Belt's product. I will take a closer look as I am writing a new
edition of Multimedia Madness later this year.
I was quite pleased with Photomorph, and we'll have a demo version on the
CD-ROM that comes with the Virtual Reality Madness book. I was very pleased
with both the interface and the morphing algorithms of Photomorph. I also like
that it outputs .avi files, as that is the most common format I work in.
I have heard that WinImages is very strong in handling a wide variety of
formats. I really do need to spend some time gettig familiar with it. <g>

Ron – I particularly like the fact that it supports Alpha Channel and TGA
output, which is my primary format, and even for those without a Targa who want
to create FLI files this is handy, because you can morph images and then
composite them over a background with no tearing. -JE P.S. I'm interested in
checking out your books. Interesting that you are including a CD Rom with your
current book VRM. Are you going to be at Siggraph? PSS Do you know of a program
which converts AVI to FLI and visa versa?
