The price is tempting and 250mb seems adaquate for now, but thats what I though
about the 44mb syquest; now they look like pricey floppy disks. I think I need
to keep enough capacity available for future expansion. Exabyte apears to be
the closest thing to a standard, so it looks like I'm going to be shelling out
serious bucks. gulp!

I've been burned in this computer hardware/software tech revolution too many
times to buy too far into the future. I don't buy more than 6-9 months future
now. If I would have bought 250 MB capacity in a tape drive when I settled for
the QIC-40 in 1990 at $250 I would have paid well over a thousand. Last year I
bought the 250mb QIC-80 for under $200. It hasn't dropped much since. When I
bought it the technology was about a year old. Exception to this rule: If you
need the hardware for a profit making job(s) then go for it; but, then that's
not buying into the future needs is it?
Salesman's motto: "The price is never going below what it is today. Or, the
price is soon going up!"
Buyer's motto: " Technology always makes prices lower for better stuff in the
