Ron,
<< Is Compel your first presentation
package, or do you have prior experience with Powerpoint, Harvard, or one of
the others??? >>
Actually I jumped in tooooo early about 2….or was it 3 years ago when Brown &
Waugh did their little road show with Merisel's Softeach weekends promoting
their "NEW" Sound Card Version 1 of the SoundBlaster and bundled it with the
Video-Lynx FrameGrabber card using a lil' ol' software package called ASK ME
2000. After endless calls to all three tech. support lines and three months of
wasted time Someone at ASK-ME finally admitted the three items where simple
"Put Together" never had they been integrated and of course the Drivers weren't
even compatable. I got my money back on the Video-Lynx and the ASK-ME 2000 and
since have just only recently jumped back in to "Grasp" by Paul Mace on the DOS
side of it as well as the Asymetrix ToolBook, Compel and Mediablitz. I also
recently purchased the Smart Video Recorder and am the proud owner of a second
set of Compel and Mediablitz which I would be willing to part with at a
resonable price.
That's why as soon as I run in to anything that even loosly resembles the Buggy
type of software problems I ran in to in the past I back off and follow the
Forums to see when its been sufficiently Field DeBugged by others with more
patience than I. Wellll I also do like to try to provide for my family as
opposed to doing software Beta testing for newly released software without
compensation.<g>

I've found a few bugs in Compel myself, but overall I like the program — it
truly is easy to create a MM presentation with it. I tend to use both Toolbook
and Compel for most stuff, and I like the versatility of the combination best.
The most important thing I'd like to see in Compel is better palette control.
OTherwise, I'm satisfied with version 1.0.

I actually had a lot of fun with it when I first opened the box…. I have to
agree with you that its fun. Had some weird stuff happen when I tried to
reload the upgrade to Mediablitz though so I think I'll erase and start
over….I think some "old" code is hanging around in the original directories.
Did you get your update to 3.0 on the Video for Window Yet….As a registered
Owner of the Smart Video Recorder I'm wondering if I gotta go rattle somebodys
cage.<g>

Indeo 3.0 is not out yet. The official word is that it will be out in August.
I do know that, when it is ready, you'll be able to download it from the
INTELLACCESS forum on CServe. You may have to check in there periodically if
you want to be among the first to get it….
It's definitely worth a download. <g>

Oh, Ya'…now I remember its great, its been written about by all the mag's
inforworld, computer reseller etc.
At least we won't have to debug it for them. <g>
