#FTP object site
8 messages in this thread
A library of objects is being set up on Internet. At the current time,
there are not any 3DS objects in the library, but that can/should change. I
have uploaded a file called ftpobj which contains a directory of objects
which are currently available via FTP from the library. I have downloaded
the objects in directory objects/tddd and have converted the interesting
ones to 3DS. I'll post those objects as time is available. First one will
be a chess set… LAM
Larry – Do you know of any discussions or areas on the Internet that are
dealing with 3D Studio, in the same way that its done here on Compuserve?
Do you think it might be possible to move the Yost Group people to the
Internet as well?! It would be an awfull lot cheaper for those of us that
don't have free Compuserve time (like about 15% of the price!).

Doug,
It's unlikely that we'll be moving off of Compuserve, since this is the
exclusive spot for formal Autodesk online tech support. If you've got one
of the automated CIS managers (like Tapcis or CIM) it's actually quite
inexpensive to get support here (less than $20/month).

Thanks – I didn't realize it would reduce the cost that much – I'll check
them out! Doug.
There are a few random questions out on comp.graphics. Mainly asking where
they can find object meshes… I try to pull old messages out of my CIS
message base to answer some of them. (I heard that groan Gary!). Overall,
not much action out there though.
Thanks Larry – I'll check it out anyway. Doug.
I see 3ds topics quite often in comp.graphics.animation

Thanks Rolf – I'll check it out. Doug
