#Works! & 2.x

Help!
since having upgraded to OS 2.04 I am experiencing strnge problems with my
copy of Platinum Works! by MSS (who, as far as I have read, are out of
business?). Now that I have my new MERLIN graphics board I think I have
found out where the problem lies – Works! always tries to open a screen of
1008×1024 pixels!!!
It worked flawlessly under 1.3, but since the upgrade I cannot use the
Main Screen (Works!) anymore as I can't load anything from there neither
can I exit. What I can do, though, is open a spreadsheet by
double-clicking on its icon. I still have problems because it won't let me
scroll properly through the sheet (I don't see any scrollbars) but most of
the other things work.
Now that I have MERLIN, I can use all of Works! but have to scroll around
on a superbitmap of 1008×1024 pixels which is a pain in the neck if you
have to do something in the upper left corner and the gadgets you have to
click in order to do it are in the lower right corner (like when creating
a database…).
Does anyone have an idea what I can do to make Works! open on a plain
simple HiRes or HiRes interlaced PAL screen (or even on the Workbench
screen for that matter) as it used to do under 1.3???
Thanks for any suggestions!

Chris..
When OS2.0 came out I believe there was a upgrade from MSS to support
the change from OS1.3…

Chris, take a look at:

PLATPA.LZH/Bin Bytes: 763, Count: 54, 05-Mar-92
Title : Patch for the Platinum series of programs for 2.0
Keywords: PLATINUM PATCH WINDOWS SIZE
This patch will make the window size of the Platinum series of programs
compatible with 2.0. Currently, under 2.0, these windows are being opened
to the size that is proper for the 2024 monitor, and this is too large for
the Workbench on most monitors. When this patch is applied, the Platinum
program will no longer assume that anything larger than the standard WB
is a 2024.
Thanks, Michael,
the patch really woked wonders for me… :v))

I'm glad that it solved your problem.
