3DS 1.0 disks
3 messages in this thread
You know, I just realized that I no longer have my disk 1 from 3d studio 1.0
because I had to send it in to receive 2.0. I now have two computers and I
want to run 1.0 on one of them since 2.0 has the hardware protection key.
Since I paid for 1.0 is there any reason why I can't receive disk 1 from
autodesk?

Shawn,
Using both version 1.0 and 2.0 of 3D Studio would be a violation of your
licence agreement. You were "upgraded" from version 1.0 to version 2.0. Only
if you purchaced 3DS 2.0 seperately, for the full price (not the upgrade
charge) would you be allowed to use both at the same time.
However, most people ask this question because they want to continue working on
one computer while another computer renders their animations. You can do this
in release 2.0. If this was indeed your reason for asking this question, read
up on command line and batch rendering in the reference manual. It will allow
you to render your animations on one machine while you are working on another.

I think that if you read your license agreement, you agreed, upon upgrading to
2.x, to destroy your 1.x disks.
