Hard copy printer driver
8 messages in this thread
I would like to find out which driver to use and how to install the driver to
allow hard copy rendering to a HP dj650c. When I access the driver window there
are none to choose from I suspect it is an AutoCAD .exp driver but I don't know
which one, and does it have to be specified in the 3ds.set file.
Thanks for your help Bill C.
Bill,
Most people just save their rendered image to a file (TGA, GIF, Whatever) and
then use a Windows package or some other paint and graphics package to print.
Also there is a program called Renderprint which has drivers for Hard copy
output right from 3DS. 800-825-4115.

Thanks for your quick response I will call them. However in the manual 3ds
talks abuot rhppj.exp I would like to see if one of the hp .exp file has the
same capability.
Thanks for your time

Bill,
Please call 1-800-825-4115 and ask about our RenderPrint software. Full color
rendering from inside AutoCAD, or standalone. NO PostScript or extra HP DJ650c
memory required. Also supports printing of BMP, PCX, TIF, GIF, TGA, and JPG
images.

Um, I'm guessing, but if there is one it will probably be listed as
HP/GL2 – 7600 series (or 7500 series).
Or, it might not be there at all, and I'm just blabbing away
pointlessly. Hmmm.
Thanks for the info Thom I will give it a whirl and let you know.

William, Thomas was right in saying that the 7600 color should work great for
the 650c. I have done lots of prints from 3DS using the windows drivers that
ship with the printer also. I mostly print from Corel Draw and the output is
awesome. You could also print from just about any other Windows package that
supports large format paper, like Micrografx Publisher or Photoshop. ANyway,
just some thoughts. Good luck – you'll love the 650C.
