#Bernoulli Box 150

We are using a Bernoulli Box 150 with our Toaster, as well as on our FAST Video
machine (PC). I would like to be able to mount the PC cartridges on the Amiga
side, so as to transfer anim files, etc. Anybody out there doing this? If
anyone can explain how I need to set it up to make it work…I would greatly
appreciate the effort. I am using the Bernoulli (SCSI) as drive ID 0, LUN 0.
It has the following specs:
Cylinders: 2137
Heads: 1
Blocks per Track: 138
Blocks per cylinder: 138

The commercial version of CrossDos should do this for you.

The commercial version of CrossDos does indeed allow Amiga's to read PC
cartridges…..In fact I have the 'PC' I'm woring on now, is connected to a
dual 1500 Bernouilli which in turn is connected to my Amiga 4000…it's naughty
and probably dangerous, but so long as both machines aren't accessing the drive
at the same time, it works incredibly well. My Lightwave animations can be
batch processed by Photoshop, and 3D Studio anims can be read strainght into
Lightwave!!!! Again, this shouldn't work..but it does for me!!
One thing, be careful setting your devices to SCSI ID 0, many SCSI cards use 0
or 7 as their own Id's. To avoid potential conflicts, assign it ID 1 using the
gadget on the back of the bb.

the Bernoulli? I certainly won't mind getting it, but I'd like to know if I'm
going to need more help afterward.

Sort of…I managed to struggle thru and tech support was pretty good. If you
get stuck gimme a holler and I'll try and help.

If you have an Amiga with an acellerator, the chances are good that there
is also a SCSI controller in there. Actually, if there is a hard drive in
the Amiga side, chances are pretty good that there is a SCSI controller in
the system. In that case all you have to do is connect the Bernoulli and
use the hard drive prep software (HDToolBox if you are using a CBM
accelerator) to set its SCSI address on the Amiga side and in the
Bernoulli drive IF there is a SCSI already set to 0 on the Amiga side.
Otherwise, no change of address is required in the Bernoulli.
Another option, if you do not want t0 connect the Bernoulli to the Amiga
directly is to get an Ethernet set-up for the two machines so that the
devices are available accross the net.
If you have ADos 2.1, then there is "CrossDos" that, I believe, can be
used to access PC style devices. (I've only used it to read/write/format
Low and High density PC floppies, but I think with the correct mountlist
entry you could created a PC compatible endry for the removable).

Thank you for a thoughtful reply…I have, however, already solved the problem
of access by purchasing CrossDos and mounting the drive as a PC drive. We are
using a Warp Engine 040/40Mhz accelerator, and it does indeed come with a SCSI
controller. The drive works just fine when mounted as a PC device, but doesn't
work too well trying to change back and forth between Amiga formatted
cartridges and IBM formatted cartridges. Thats okay, we'll just use PC format
for everything from now on.
