In addition to Jonas's reply, you might find that the 800# he supplied will not
work from outside of America. If so, you can call 415/332-2344 and ask for the
Autodesk 800# telemarketing line. Ask for the "DLL" kit.

Thanks for your help.
I called Autodesk UK and they were a little vague about the SDK a couple of
people in sales told me there was no such thing but eventually I found someone
who seemed to be clued up about it so I'll see what arrives over the next few
days.
If I don't have any joy with it I will call the US
