I'm looking for the pinout diagram for the CD32 controller. Can anyone help? Thanks. —Mike—

Mike, I don't exactly have the joypad pinout but what I do have is the pin-out of the joystick port, and the fact that it is the same on the CD32 as on the A500. The connections are as follows: Pin 1: Mouse V Pin 2: Mouse H Pin 3: Mouse VQ Pin 4: Mouse HQ Pin 5: Mouse button 2 (POTX) Pin 6: Mouse button 1 (Red button on joypad) Pin 7: +5v (100ma max) Pin 8: Ground Pin 9 Mouse Button 3 (POTY) Commodore say there is no easy way to read all the buttons on the pad – it seems they use some unpublished combination of port states to allow the reading of 11 switches. CD32 developers kits come with a lowlevel.library which contains functions for reading the controller ports – Commodore say that this is the only way to read the joypad. The up, down, left, right and red buttons ,however, correspond directly to a normal joystick, and can be read using the normal joystick reading methods. Mal

Mal, Thanks much for the reply. Do you know if anyone sells the CD32 joypad seperately? Best, —Mike—

Mike, There is a new joypad available for the CD32: It is called Competition Pro Super CD 32 and costs around DM 40 ($ 30). It is far more better than the original one! Jurgen (via Amiga AutoPilot from Germany)
