Dan, << What's CDK? >> This can be best described by downloading the following files: CDK.RLS Images/Animation.. (press release) WTKCDK.ZIP " " CDK1.TXT " " CDK1.ZIP " " ENVVAR.TXT " " jonas[adesk] P.S. all of these will be moved to the CDK section of the library soon..

what plans (if any) are there for the CDK? Very little is heard about the future of this product, I hope that it doesn't get cut loose by the bean-counters. (like the original cyberspace thrust and other projects)

Shaun, << what plans (if any) are there for the CDK? >> Autodesk does *not* discuss future products, features or shipdates. Sorry. However, are you planning on going to SIGGRAPH this year? There will be several CDK developers in the Autodesk booth that can answer your questions. jonas[adesk]

thanks. was that response live or memorex? <bg> You've got the corporate response pretty well polished. unfortunately, siggraph is not in the budget. Adesk U is all we could manage for 94. See you there…

O.K. – I read CDK1.ZIP and WTKCDK.ZIP. Very interesting. I notice both of these docs are fairly old, and there don't seem to be any new messages in this forum. Is the CDK still alive? Has it been updated since these documents were produced? Are there any released apps that use it? In particular, the CDK apparently works with the Zortech compiler (which now is only part of Symantec) or Metaware. Is this still true? Also review in WTKCDK is not very favorable to the CDK. Is there a response from ADESK to this? The bit about techinical support being only available from resellers is really incredible. Finally, where can I get a manual and some sample code. Thanks, Dan

Hi Dan, << I notice both of these docs are fairly old, and there don't seem to be any new messages in this forum. Is the CDK still alive? >> Yes it is. For the latest in CDK developments, I'd recommend visiting our booth at SIGGRAPH where you'll be able to discuss CDK with our developers. << Has it been updated since these documents were produced? >> The current shipping version is 1.01. << Are there any released apps that use it? >> Yes. Micron/Green 904-376-1529 has an application that's selling using this technology. <<… works with the Zortech compiler or Metaware. Is this still true? >> Still true. << Finally, where can I get a manual and some sample code. >> You can purchase the product or contact your nearest dealer to review his documentation. You can contact Autodesk Dealer Referral at 1-800-964-6432 for the nearest CDK dealer near you. jonas[adesk]
