David Sounds like a conspiracy, I can just see the headlines: "Corporate Elite Conspire to Bury New Technology that will Revolutionize the World". Or was it just more hype than fact. Most likely it was somewhere between these two extremes. Thanks for the update. Steve

Steve: About a year after Autodesk acquired Xanadu, John Walker presented a look at the work he and the Xanadu team had been doing. The preview was held at one of the early CAD Camps. I remember sitting cross-legged on the floor at John's feet in a room filled to overflowing while he demoed some stuff on a Sun SPARCstation. That was the last I ever saw of Xanadu. I don't think the "revolutionary technology" was buried. I think it was just a matter of having plans more grandiose than practical. Perhaps someday, something real will come of it. In any event, Ted Nelson's vision has certainly had an impact on other developments such as hypertext links in Windows help files and Hypercard stacks on the Mac. David
