#Gimpy Supra 144LC

Looks like I took some modem damage during the recent spate of thunderstorms pawssing through my area. My Supra 144LC will dial, but refuses to hold a connection open on it's own–it makes the connection then reports NO DIALTONE or BUSY and drops the connection. However, if I leave my phone off the hook, it works normally. I'm using an Amiga 500 w/4meg ram, a GVP A500-HD+ hard drive & a Roctech external drive and Autopilot v.1.73 comm software. -Pat "Cruising the North Coast on Autopilot"

Dale: I'm a firm believer in surge protectors–being a broadcaster, I've seen the damage a surge can do–problem is, the place I'm renting is an old farmhouse with only two wire electrical service, and surge protection isn't worth diddely without a ground. -Pat "Cruising the North Coast on Autopilot"

Call Supra and see if they'll give you any credit for it or will repair it. That's about all you can do, since if it's broke, there's probably nothing you could do to fix it. Dale L.
