Hello everybody,
after 10 good years, suddenly my 1081 monitor showes only a horizontal line.
Does this indicate a simple problem? Any answers?

It definitely sounds like a vertical deflection problem. I can't get
more specific than that. It would take some signal tracing to find the bad
component.
