Does anyone know if you can set up 3DS3 so that when you view flics they would
be displayed on the frame buffer monitor?

I don't know of any way you would be able to do this. The definition of a frame
buffer is that it will only display one frame at a time.

P.S. If your frame buffer is a TARGA+ board, there is a AAPRO driver to use the
VGA pass through on the Targa board to dislay FLIC's.
I have a Matrox Illuminator Pro Board that I use as a frame buffer. I thought
that I might somehow be able to view flics through it because I can run up a
couple programs (Tempra Pro & Inscriber CG) on the frame buffer monitor. I know
Tempra Pro has/had a "TURBO AMIMATION" software add on that allows you to edit
flics… and probably view them, through Tempra Pro. The problem is that
Mathamatica went bankrupt and took all their software with them!

I've used some of Mathmatica's software (Tempra Pro, Media Author). What is
currently happening is that the company that WROTE the software got the rights
back and is currently upgrading and planning to re-release some products. BTW,
Animator Pro smokes Turbo Animation. (How's that for pulling this message back
on topic? B-)

Got Ani Pro… was interested in Turbo Anim just to get flics to play from
within Tempra… which runs on my frame buffer monitor… which outputs through
my record deck… which would allow me to record real time rather than single
frame…

With the Illuminator, I beleve you can view the animation on your frame buffer
monitor by using the VGA pass through, but it will not allow you to record to
tape. The pass through is overlaying the VGA signal at VGA horiz frequencies,
not NTSC frequencies.

what I have it work is an inexpensive vga to ntsc converter (~$200) which will
allow me to watch flics on TV and on the monitor. I also have a targa+ which
you can see and record flics on TV using animator pro.
If you have a Targa+ you can use Animator Pro and just select the Targa driver.
You will then be able to view flics on your FB monitor. Without Apro I'm not
sure how you'd go about it.
