Hi Chuck, I have just installed the speedstar 64 ISA w/2megs video board and it seems that the vibrant drivers do not currently support this board. I am able to use the VESA compatable driver, but I am not able to get anything higher than 256 color (I should be able to get 16 mil. at 800×600 and 45 thousand at 1024×768) with any driver. It appears that the card is based on the Cirrus CL-GD5434 graphics controller. Is there any word on support for this card or any other driver I might try? Thanks for your help. Doug

We are working on getting this board in house. Have you tried some of the generic 'Cirrus' listings in the second-half of the cardlist? Do any of them work? I'll send a note to someone here again about this board… Chuck Walbourn – Vibrant Graphics

Chuck, I have tried the generic Cirrus entries…none worked except at 640x480x16 colors, and that wouldn't work for the materials editor. The vesa driver was the only one that worked well enough to be slightly useable, but not really satisfactory for long term use. I would be interested to know if you will be providing support any time soon, as I am thinking of returning the board within its 30 day return period (now at about 15) and settling for my speedstar vga card I have had for 2 years. Thanks. Doug

Ok. I have heard that we are working on support for Cirrus 5434. It is used by the Orchid Kelvin 64 and the Diamond Speedstar 64. I don't know what the status of this is, but it IS in the works. Chuck Walbourn – Vibrant Graphics

Thanks Chuck. Maybe I will hang on to the card. Doug
