flc files in MM Action
4 messages in this thread
Hi
I created a logo in corel draw and imported it into Animator Pro, I then
animated it and tried to bring it into Macromedia's Action to add to my
multimedia presentation. When I bring it into Action, the animation appears but
the rest of the screen is black. I'm sure I've made a mistake somewhere because
all of the other .flc files play fine.
Help would be really appreciated.
Thank you
Tommy
Thomas,
I'm sorry, I am not familiar with MM Action at all. From what you described I
can't tell you anything about the Flic file itself. Is there any more
information you can give me to help track this down?

Hi Tommy,
In addition to what Brian's said, have you been able to check the integrity of
this FLC before bringing it into another application? Have you tried running it
in a simple FLC player, or in Microsoft's Media Player?
You mention that you use this process successfully for other animations…
that's great, and provides a good baseline. What's different about this one
logo animation? Size, colordepth, speed…? How does the filesize look on disk?
If you swap its place in the Action! presentation with another FLC, does the
"all-black stage" persist with the FLC, or with the scene?
Finally, please check in with my partner Jack Moreno, over in the "Action!"
section of the Macromedia Forum (GO MACROM). He might have a lead that none of
us have considered yet.
We'll get you up and running! <g>

John,
Thanks for the message and the encouragement. I have run both my own and
pre-packaged flc files in the media player, the pre-packaged flcs are great,
mine don't play properly.
However, the flc I created using the Adesk tutorial did play well in Action, so
I'm going to retrace my steps and try again.
I will let you know either way. I'm sure we'll be in contact often as I use
Action regularly. It's a great package.
