#Modeler Bug

<You should just add that macro to the list of macros with the configure list
option>
It's getting so that I'm spending so much time EDITING at my station, that I
don't have a lot of time to play around in Lightwave as much as I would like.
Do you have any reccomendations on what to read to tell me how to use the
macros. I've tried to use some of them but I just don't know Modeler well
enough.
Thanks for the tip.

Mostly look in articles, by me and others, in Video Toaster User magazine
and LightWave Pro newsletter. Many of the macros have a kind of
experimental nature, or were created for some long-forgotten ad hoc
solution. Once you are more familiar with modeler, your response to the
macros should go from "what the heck did that do?" to "I wondered how the
heck to do that!"

I'm just finding out how powerful Modeler really is. I experimented with
the Boolean function today for the first time. I created a long thick tube and
cloned 30 copies of it down the Y axis. I then used my station logo – a "10"
– as a cookie cutter. The end result is a "10" made out of tubes. How can I
animate these tubes independantly. Is that what particle animation is. If
the answer is yes, is the new version of Sparks going to let me do an effect
like this? thanks for your time.

I don't think that would really count as particle animation, since they
are tubes, not the single-point-polygons we think of as particles.
Animating them could be tricky. It might need "morph targets" . You
could make a cloud of particles, and cut the logo out of them…
Thanks, I think I'll try the morph target idea. Can you tell me which command
in modeler lets you make curves so I can read up on it. I was making a
sattelite dish with stand and all today. I had trouble with a couple of really
basic shapes. I was trying to make a U shape. I tried BEND and TAPER and
SHEAR, anything I could tyhink of to tru to bend a tube into a U shape. I
couldn't figure it out. Finally I used the Dicot Light font and extruded the
letter U. It was exactly what I was looking for but I still dont know how to
"make" one.
