To PAR users: What are some reasons why the PAR board (sw v. 2.16), under Emulation mode, would NOT be able to FIND and IMPORT an image from an anim as part of a sequence into Lightwave (3.1)? I am having problems with a live-action video grab that I'm running as a background in LW. I was able to grab frames 1-95. Now, for some reason, the Emulation mode does not seem to work, and no frame is found when Lightwave searches for it. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Steve. S.G. Bailey Chicago

Steve, "sw v. 2.16"??? Where'd you get 2.16? I was just on the DPS BBS and the latest version there is still 2.10. Any useful new features? I presume you're talking about the Amiga version of the PAR since you're trying to use it with LightWave. Jeff H…

Jeff, Forgive me. Mine is 2.10, too. I clicked on ABOUT and read the version number of PAR.HEX, which is 2.16. The upper right part of the menu bar does read Version 2.10. And, the problem seems to have fixed itself. I wonder if the EMULATION mode is simply a bit "sensitive". I left a rendering to run over-night, only to find that it got hung-up due to a PAR error. Either it is unable to find a specific sequence frame to load into LW, or else LW will get an error trying to output the RGB back to the PAR. On the other hand, I've gotten it to work for many hours without a problem. I guess I should just cross my fingers and hope… 🙂 S.G. Bailey Chicago

Stephen, When in PAR, select EXPORT. Then set the import module to IFF. Then click on cancel. The emulation will be on IFF. To save these settings the only thing you have to do is Quit the PAR programm. Latest version I have is 2.10. (Where did you get the 2.16 one??????). Regards, Jose L. Gonzalo Jose L. Jose, Thanks. I finally figured out your solution myself. BTW, I was wrong about the version number. Mine is also 2.10 :^> OOPS! S.G. Bailey Chicago
